Haripriya was born as Shruthi in Chikballapur, Karnataka She studied at Vidya Mandir and completed her Pre-University Course (PUC), which was the ambition of her late father.She subsequently moved to Bangalore, where she received acting assignments.
She made her acting debut in 2008, at age 16, when she starred in Manasugula Mathu Madhura, followed which she was part of unsuccessful ventures, including Vasanthakala. Her performance in the poitical satire Kallara Santhe (2009) earned her a Filmfare nomination for Best Kannada actress, while her next film Cheluveye Ninne Nodalu released to rave reviews,making Haripriya popular in Karnataka.In 2010, she also forayed into the Tamil and Telugu film industries with Kanagavel Kaaka,[6] and Bhumika Chawla's maiden production, Takita Takita, respectively, with the latter emerging a moderate success. Currently, she has become busy with Tamil and Telugu projects, with Nande being her only Kannada project, while working on Cheran's Muran in Tamil and Pilla Zamindar in Telugu.
